Responsibilities

  • Review software specifications, architecture, and design documents and clarify requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and develop embedded C++ software components for automotive telematics and networking systems on Linux.
  • Analyze existing embedded software to add features, modify functionality, fix defects, and port software to other platforms.
  • Perform code reviews, functional testing, unit testing, system testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
  • Implement and verify fixes, assess risks for critical changes, and improve software performance KPIs.
  • Participate in internal and customer-facing design reviews and coordinate software development activities with team leaders and other HARMAN groups.
  • Work with customers to define requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Break down and drive complex development tasks and potentially direct the work of one or two other engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant information technology specialization.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a software developer.
  • At least 3 years of proven C++ development experience.
  • Solid Linux expertise and experience developing embedded applications.
  • Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, socket communication, and embedded operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of software development processes and strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include multithreaded and asynchronous modem middleware development, eSIM, VoLTE, 3GPP, telecommunications, call workflows, VoIP, and automotive experience.
  • Preferred knowledge includes SomeIP, CAPI, TCP, UDP, UML, connectivity protocols, software updates, diagnostics, secure boot, TEE, Linux kernel operation, and resource coordination.
  • Willingness to travel 0–20% of the time depending on project needs.
