Responsibilities

  • Review software specifications, architecture, and design documents and translate requirements into component designs.
  • Develop, modify, port, debug, and maintain embedded C++ software components on Linux.
  • Perform code reviews, functional testing, unit testing, and system-level testing.
  • Analyze issues, determine root causes, implement fixes, and verify their effectiveness.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, customers, and software team leaders to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop risk assessments for critical fixes, break down complex tasks, and drive complex software development activities.
  • Participate in design reviews and coordinate software development with peers across the HARMAN organization.
  • May direct the work of one or two other engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another relevant IT-related specialization.
  • At least three years of experience as a software developer.
  • At least two years of demonstrated C++ development experience.
  • Expertise with Linux and experience developing embedded applications.
  • Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, socket communication, embedded operating systems, and software development processes.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Preferred: experience with TCP and UDP protocols, UML, secure boot, TEE, DEV/Sec mode switching, and Linux Kernel operation.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Scrum and SAFe Agile software development methods.
