Responsibilities
- Manage Grafana’s physical Metal environment from bare metal through Kubernetes.
- Manage cluster networking components, including load balancing, NAT, DNS, CNIs, cross-cluster communication, routing protocols, and network architecture.
- Manage Kubernetes scheduling and autoscaling.
- Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for common cloud-service-provider resources, including versioning and compatibility.
- Work with Grafana Cloud application teams to understand their needs and prioritize platform capabilities.
- Own the full lifecycle of platform code, including design documentation, developer feedback, integration testing, deployment, and operations.
Requirements
- Experience with distributed systems and operating production code.
- Experience with datacenter environments and participation in an on-call rotation.
- Proficiency or experience with Go, Python, and Shell.
- Experience managing Kubernetes workloads and infrastructure is valuable.
- Bonus experience includes Cluster-API, Tinkerbell, Talos, Ceph, Terraform, Crossplane, cloud providers, Tanka, Jsonnet, and Karpenter.
- Experience with open-source or community-based projects is a plus.
