Responsibilities
- Manage the physical Metal environment from bare metal through Kubernetes.
- Manage cluster networking components, including load balancing, NAT, DNS, CNIs, cross-cluster communication, routing protocols, and architecture.
- Manage scheduling and autoscaling.
- Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for common cloud service provider resources, including versioning and compatibility across Terraform, Crossplane, and providers.
- Work with Grafana Cloud application teams to understand their needs and prioritize platform capabilities.
- Build and operate tools, utilities, exporters, and other infrastructure software.
Requirements
- Experience with Go, Python, and Shell development.
- Experience operating code and managing production workloads, including participation in an on-call rotation.
- Datacenter experience.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and full software lifecycle ownership, including design documentation, developer feedback, and integration testing.
- Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure provisioning, cluster networking, scheduling, autoscaling, or related platform operations is relevant.
- Bonus qualifications include Cluster-API, Tinkerbell, Talos, Ceph, AWS, GCP, Azure, EKS, GKE, AKS, Tanka, Jsonnet, Karpenter, Terraform, Crossplane, and open-source or community-based project experience.
