Responsibilities
- Design, build, direct, and implement enterprise infrastructure technology platforms across cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware domains.
- Develop advanced automation, monitoring, and optimization techniques to support high availability and infrastructure performance.
- Lead large, complex, strategically important infrastructure initiatives involving cross-departmental teams.
- Build platform services, control-plane components, event-driven automation, policy-as-code enforcement engines, developer self-service experiences, governance gates, and observability capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex critical infrastructure performance and reliability issues.
- Ensure compliance with technology strategies, standards, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures and communicate them to technical and business stakeholders.
- Provide advanced technical guidance and training to infrastructure teams and lower-level technical professionals.
- Drive technical innovation and influence infrastructure decisions in alignment with business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware technologies.
- Strong proficiency in Python with FastAPI and/or Java for production microservices deployed on Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Hands-on experience with Open Policy Agent and Rego for policy-as-code authoring, testing, and enforcement.
- Experience with Apache Kafka producer and consumer services, Confluent schema registry integration, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience implementing distributed-systems resilience, scaling, connection pooling, caching, latency optimization, and availability targets.
- Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, security scanning integration, and governance gates.
- Experience with Backstage developer portal workflows, software templates, catalog entities, and scaffolder plugins.
- Working knowledge of HashiCorp Vault for secrets injection, credential rotation, and secrets-path bootstrapping.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Splunk, Jaeger, or Tempo for observability and distributed tracing.
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with container security practices including Cosign, CycloneDX, and container scanning pipelines.
- Preferred certifications include CKA, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or HashiCorp Certified Vault Associate.
- Experience with internal developer platforms or platform engineering initiatives at enterprise scale is preferred.
- Experience with AI coding agents or assistants such as GitLab Duo or GitHub Copilot is preferred.
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments using FFIEC, SOX, NIST 800-53, or PCI frameworks is preferred.
