Base Salary
$131k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build large-scale distributed systems handling high request volumes and latency-sensitive workloads
- Develop and operate traffic infrastructure, including the Envoy data plane, xDS control planes, proxyless architecture, and ingress systems
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues while maintaining service-level agreements
- Collaborate with platform and product engineers to deliver features and solve engineering problems
- Improve team productivity and operational capabilities through automation and AI tools
- Participate in shared on-call and support rotations and lead production investigations and incidents
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in infrastructure, networking, or platform engineering
- Experience with Go, C++, Python, or Rust
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes
- Background debugging high-QPS or latency-sensitive systems
- Proficiency using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor across the software development lifecycle
- Bonus: experience with Envoy, Istio, or Linkerd
- Bonus: familiarity with xDS or control plane architectures
- Bonus: understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTP/2, gRPC, and load balancing
- Bonus: experience building RPC frameworks or client-side networking libraries
- Bonus: experience with AWS networking primitives such as load balancers and PrivateLink
- Bonus: experience with Terraform
- Bonus: experience with ArgoCD, Helm, or Atlantis
