Responsibilities
- Build the LabOS orchestration layer for experiment scheduling, execution, data capture, and results processing.
- Create interfaces and APIs that provide scientists and AI agents with real-time laboratory visibility.
- Build custom AI agents and tools that automate protocol design, troubleshooting, and other experiment-lifecycle decisions.
- Turn proprietary laboratory hardware into API-controllable devices.
- Design scheduling systems that coordinate dozens of instruments with complex dependency chains.
- Own large product areas and make independent decisions about scope and implementation.
Requirements
- Full-stack production experience and the ability to work across the stack.
- Experience with TypeScript, React, Node, and Postgres.
- A demonstrated product instinct, including shipping, observing user behavior, iterating, and shipping again.
- Ability to work from goals rather than detailed specifications, scope problems, and create implementation plans independently.
- Comfort using AI tools while retaining sufficient software experience to evaluate quality.
- Curiosity about biology and enthusiasm for running experiments in the physical world.
