Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end Azure infrastructure solutions including landing zones, networking, identity, security, governance, hybrid connectivity, resilience, disaster recovery, and backup.
- Lead datacenter-to-Azure migration programs covering discovery, assessment, wave planning, and cutover.
- Define and enforce Azure Well-Architected Framework standards for cost, security, reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
- Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code delivery using Terraform and/or Bicep, with infrastructure managed through code rather than production click-ops.
- Build infrastructure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions with automated validation, testing, plan or what-if gates, and approval workflows.
- Support RFP/RFI responses, solution architecture, effort estimation, delivery approaches, client workshops, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Shape Microsoft-funded assessments and pilots and collaborate with Microsoft field teams on co-sell opportunities.
- Contribute to capability building as an early member of the India practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of infrastructure experience and 5+ years architecting solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise across Azure IaaS/PaaS, including compute, networking, storage, identity, hub-spoke architectures, Virtual WAN, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Expert-level Terraform and/or Bicep skills, including production management of large estates through Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Strong Azure DevOps YAML pipeline and/or GitHub Actions experience for infrastructure deployment pipelines with automated testing and gates.
- PowerShell proficiency and scripting experience in at least one of Python or Bash.
- Working knowledge of Git workflows, code review practices, and trunk-based or GitFlow branching models.
- Proven delivery of large-scale migrations from VMware, Hyper-V, or physical environments to Azure and Azure landing zone implementations.
- Strong grounding in Azure security and governance, including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure Policy, RBAC, and Key Vault.
- Experience with FinOps, cost optimization, and Azure Well-Architected reviews.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, including the ability to engage audiences from engineers through CIOs.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (AZ-305).
