Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable distributed backend systems and high-throughput data processing pipelines.
- Develop reliable, high-performance services focused on concurrency, efficiency, and fault tolerance.
- Design and improve event-driven architectures, asynchronous workflows, and distributed coordination mechanisms.
- Address consistency, retries, idempotency, deduplication, backpressure, and failure recovery challenges.
- Make architectural decisions involving distributed storage, messaging systems, and data processing strategies.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and improve throughput, latency, resource utilization, and infrastructure cost efficiency.
- Drive architecture modernization while maintaining production stability.
- Own critical services from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
- Lead technical design discussions, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and establish engineering best practices.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to define technical direction and develop platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience designing, building, and operating complex production backend systems.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, concurrency, asynchronous processing, consistency, and fault tolerance.
- Strong proficiency in Go or comparable backend programming experience with the ability to become productive in Go.
- Experience designing and operating systems using messaging technologies such as Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or AWS SQS.
