Base Salary

$143k - $304k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the highest-stakes forward-deployed engagements from discovery and planning through implementation, validation, production adoption, and measurable outcomes.
  • Design and ship integrations, prototypes, reference implementations, tooling, and platform changes in customer and Microsoft codebases.
  • Serve as the technical face of Windows to CTOs, engineering executives, principal engineers, and implementation teams.
  • Define the team’s engagement model, technical quality bar, security and privacy standards, and reusable reference architectures, tooling, instrumentation, and playbooks.
  • Translate customer evidence into Windows platform and product roadmap changes using reproductions, measurements, architectural analysis, and business impact.
  • Mentor forward-deployed engineers, review technical work, transfer knowledge across field and product teams, and help establish hiring and performance standards.
  • Communicate findings, tradeoffs, risks, progress, and adoption outcomes to customer and Microsoft stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience involving coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Programming experience in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Preferred experience owning technical relationships and outcomes for strategic partners or major enterprise engineering organizations.
  • Preferred experience founding a team, practice, or engagement model and converting bespoke customer work into reusable assets.
  • Preferred technical depth in LLM applications and agents, evaluation, local and hybrid inference, developer environments, toolchains, WSL, containers, system performance and reliability, enterprise security, and identity controls.
  • Preferred production programming experience in Python and at least one of TypeScript, C#, Rust, Go, C, or C++.
  • Preferred experience influencing platform roadmaps through customer evidence, mentoring senior engineers, and raising a team’s technical bar.
  • Deep Windows platform expertise or the ability to develop that expertise quickly is preferred; familiarity with WinUI, WPF, .NET desktop, and application modernization is valuable.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
