Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead forward-deployed engineering pods and own AI programs across health plans, PBMs, and payer operations.
- Define AI opportunities, program outcomes, use cases, prioritization frameworks, ROI backlogs, and adoption roadmaps.
- Architect and govern cloud-native AI programs spanning administrative, claims, clinical, and payer platforms.
- Design safe, compliant, fair solutions with human oversight, transparency, and PHI safeguards.
- Shape healthcare interoperability across plans, providers, claims data, and clinical data.
- Coach junior forward-deployed engineers and own performance management and professional growth for pod engineers.
- Partner with payer executives to shape AI reinvention strategy and commercial metrics.
- Build reusable methods, blueprints, accelerators, and engineering standards for the forward-deployed practice.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of hands-on engineering experience with cloud-native systems, APIs, microservices, containerization, serverless systems, and AI platforms.
- At least 8 years of hands-on coding experience in a general-purpose language such as Python or Java.
- At least 8 years of production deployment experience including infrastructure as code, monitoring, debugging, and end-to-end client-embedded delivery ownership.
- At least 3 years of experience delivering AI or technology programs inside payer organizations.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience using Claude or an equivalent frontier AI tool.
- At least 1 year designing and deploying production agentic solutions involving agents, orchestration, context engineering, RAG, and workflows.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent 12 years of work experience; an associate degree may qualify with at least 6 years of work experience.
- Deep knowledge of administrative and claims platforms, including QNXT, Facets, HealthEdge, or comparable systems.
- Fluency with SQL, relational modeling, data quality, and data lineage.
- Working knowledge of X12 transaction flows, FHIR APIs, healthcare interoperability, and exchange mechanisms.
- Deep understanding of payer workflows, HIPAA and CMS requirements, and the operational and clinical contexts where AI can reduce burden.
- Experience with AI solution architecture, program scoping, technical communication, and executive presentations.
- Understanding of web systems, API integration, relational and NoSQL databases, LLM prompting, retrieval, structured outputs, tool use, evaluation, authentication, authorization, encryption, audit logging, queues, caching, and asynchronous processing.
- Ability to work directly within health plans, tolerate ambiguity, and operate in high-stakes, slow-moving IT environments.
