Base Salary
$135k - $202k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, unit test, and document Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 8 protocol features.
- Design, implement, and maintain Linux wireless drivers for Qualcomm access point SoCs.
- Analyze requirements and develop software to improve wireless performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in software design, implementation, code reviews, debugging, integration, and regression testing.
- Bring up, validate, and enable wireless driver functionality on new access point hardware platforms.
- Optimize driver throughput, latency, performance, and system resource utilization.
- Debug Wi-Fi protocol, interoperability, performance, and system crash issues.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, protocol, validation, and systems engineering teams.
- Upstream ath12k and related driver enhancements into the Linux kernel.
- Create technical design, implementation, and feature documentation.
- Support customer issue investigations and occasionally travel to customer sites for technical debugging and resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software engineering or related experience; or a master's degree plus 1+ year; or a PhD in a related field.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred: 3–6 years of hands-on experience in networking, wireless LAN, IEEE 802.11, Linux kernel, or device-driver development.
- Strong C programming, data structures, and algorithms skills.
- Experience with Linux kernel architecture, Linux device drivers, networking subsystems, and networking components within the Linux kernel.
- Experience developing Ethernet, wireless LAN, or other networking drivers.
- Knowledge of wireless communication protocols, access point architecture, and WLAN driver frameworks.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills for complex system-level issues.
