Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, test, deploy, document, maintain, and support custom software applications and application modules.
- Participate in software development from conception through deployment, including new-build and enhancement work under supervision.
- Develop front-end code and platform configurations from approved designs, mock-ups, and wireframes.
- Develop or configure back-end databases, applications, services, integrations, and RESTful APIs.
- Troubleshoot and triage post-production issues involving code, configuration, and integrations.
- Conduct automated and application-module testing and document test activities, results, error handling, and recovery procedures.
- Support enterprise application integration, vendor application implementation, packaging, maintenance, and operational support.
- Analyze application features and integration, security, scalability, performance, and other non-functional requirements.
- Write technical documentation and document business processes, functions, and changes.
- Collaborate with analysts, technical leads, managers, developers, architects, clients, and business teams to deliver solutions.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is required.
- At least three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
- A Computer Science degree and experience designing, developing, implementing, or supporting enterprise software applications and integrations are preferred.
- Knowledge of enterprise application development tools, business process management and automation solutions such as Appian and RPA, and enterprise integration tools such as ETLs, ESBs, and APIs is preferred or an asset.
- Working knowledge of programming, scripting, or markup languages such as Java, Groovy, Python, Perl, HTML, XML, and JSON is an asset.
- Knowledge of SOAP/REST concepts, XSD, XSLT, XPath, WSDL, SOAP APIs, JSON Schema, RAML/Swagger, RESTful APIs, and OAuth2 is preferred.
- Understanding of front-end and back-end development, data modeling and mapping, data structures, data integration, SOA, ETLs, ESBs, MOMs, EAI, enterprise integration patterns, and SQL/DDL/DML is required or preferred.
- Experience with object-oriented analysis and design, UML, ORM frameworks, web application frameworks, build management, code repositories, version control, continuous integration, continuous deployment, test-driven design, and behavior-driven design is preferred.
- Basic project coordination skills and knowledge of SDLC methodologies, preferably Lean, XP, or Scrum, are preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, oral communication, and technical writing skills are required.
