Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the business unit’s product cybersecurity strategy aligned with business and customer requirements.
- Establish cybersecurity policies, standards, secure design principles, and governance across hardware, firmware, and embedded software development.
- Integrate cybersecurity into the secure product development lifecycle and new product introduction process.
- Lead threat modeling, product-level risk assessments, mitigation planning, and security design reviews.
- Establish static and dynamic code analysis, penetration testing, firmware validation, and hardware security testing processes.
- Manage vulnerability disclosure, incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation activities.
- Define cybersecurity requirements for suppliers and assess third-party and open-source components.
- Partner with system architects on secure protocols, encryption, authentication, key management, secure boot, firmware integrity, and update mechanisms.
- Ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity regulations, standards, audits, certifications, and customer assessments.
- Train engineering and product teams and advise technical and executive leadership on cybersecurity risks and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of cybersecurity experience with strong emphasis on embedded systems and/or hardware-integrated products.
- Experience with high-speed electronics, data center infrastructure, or networking products is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience implementing secure development lifecycle practices.
- Expertise in embedded systems security, firmware, RTOS, low-level software, ASICs, FPGAs, side-channel risks, secure elements, cryptography, secure boot, authentication protocols, network security, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, secure firmware updates, and key management.
- Knowledge of secure development lifecycle frameworks, product security standards for data center and networking environments, and Zero Trust Architecture concepts.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27017/27018, NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, NIST SP 800-53, SOC 2 Type II, and ANSI/TIA-942.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to influence design decisions without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel as required, approximately 30%.
