Base Salary
$165k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop Android apps leveraging AOSP capabilities and collaborate with ROM and vendor teams.
- Enhance existing functionality in the Greenlight Android mobile app.
- Design system services and secure inter-process communication interfaces.
- Manage permissions, signing, and app identity models.
- Drive app installation strategies including silent installs and self-updating apps.
- Champion WebView as a primary product surface.
- Build and maintain Android CI/CD pipelines with device-in-the-loop testing.
- Design device telemetry and health signaling systems.
- Harden software into production-grade systems with observability.
- Build field debugging infrastructure for remote diagnostics.
- Serve as a technical bridge between platform architecture and product engineering.
- Mentor peers in a distributed environment.
- Translate technical findings into business insights.
- Apply AI tooling to engineering problems.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8 to 12 years of software engineering experience with a focus on Android platform or systems engineering.
- Fluency in AOSP and experience with OEM or vendor teams.
- Deep understanding of Android's security model and system app privileges.
- Hands-on experience with application and system-level update mechanisms.
- Comfort with adb shell and system-level diagnostic tools.
- Experience shipping products with WebView as the primary UI surface.
- Track record of building Android CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience designing device telemetry and fleet health systems.
- Quality-first mindset with a focus on testing and observability.
- Strong communication skills for translating technical findings.
- Excitement about AI and its application in engineering.
