Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, implementation, and delivery of large-scale Java and Quarkus backend platforms, integrations, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Define and govern architecture standards, API design principles, microservices practices, security frameworks, testing strategies, performance benchmarks, and operational readiness.
- Drive technical roadmaps, platform modernization, technical debt reduction, reliability improvements, observability, automation, and cloud adoption.
- Lead architectural reviews, approve major technical decisions, evaluate emerging technologies, and influence product and engineering strategy.
- Provide technical leadership during critical production incidents, customer escalations, and complex cross-team initiatives.
- Mentor engineers at all levels, support career development, lead technical interviews and onboarding, and contribute to workforce planning.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Security, DevOps, QA, customers, partners, and business teams on strategic delivery and technical engagements.
- Represent engineering in architecture forums, governance meetings, customer workshops, technical reviews, and pre-sales activities.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale Java backend services, platforms, integrations, and distributed systems.
- Ability to define solution architectures spanning multiple systems and services and to make decisions affecting multiple teams or product areas.
- Experience with Quarkus, API design, microservices architecture, security, observability, performance, reliability, and production operations.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, architectural governance, technical planning, stakeholder collaboration, and incident escalation skills.
- Ability to drive modernization, technical debt reduction, engineering standards, continuous improvement, and platform evolution initiatives.
- Ability to support recruitment, technical assessments, onboarding, customer engagements, proposal reviews, and technical workshops.
- Knowledge of OWASP standards, information security, data protection, regulatory requirements, and responsible gaming requirements.
