Base Salary

$162k - $186k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build large-scale backend systems that detect fraudsters using rules and productionized machine learning models.
  • Collaborate with machine learning engineers, product managers, operations, data scientists, designers, and research partners to identify and prioritize fraud mitigation opportunities.
  • Build tooling and automation that help operations teams investigate and reduce fraud.
  • Develop user challenges such as location verification to prevent fraudulent listings while minimizing impact on legitimate users.
  • Build data pipelines for machine learning and reduce fraud at scale.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience building systems at scale, with relevant MS or PhD study potentially included in the experience qualification.
  • Experience building user-facing products or large backend systems.
  • Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Scala.
  • Ability to write high-performance, production-quality code.
  • Exposure to architectural patterns for large-scale web applications, high-volume data pipelines, well-designed APIs, and efficient algorithms.
  • Ability to collaborate with design, product, data science, and research partners and communicate with legal and operations stakeholders.
  • Experience in the Trust and Risk domain is a plus.
