Base Salary

$142k - $199k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and test rule-based or ML-based ad-selection logic in high-throughput, low-latency microservices.
Enhance system observability through metrics, monitors, and alerts.
Translate product user stories into actionable tasks for frontend and backend components.
Own one or more team domain areas and contribute to scalable, performant, maintainable, and testable software.
Apply ML models online and offline and define technical and operational metrics to manage system health and risk.
Use automated AI tools according to company policy.
Participate in on-call rotations under the team’s escalation policy and support schedule.
Communicate and collaborate across teams, mentor others, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant work experience.
5+ years of software engineering experience, specifically including machine learning experience.
Proficiency with Java.
Experience with large-scale ML/DL platforms and processing technologies, including tools such as scikit-learn, Spark MLlib, and PyTorch.
Experience developing LLM-based applications with providers such as AWS Bedrock, Azure Cognitive Services, or Google Vertex AI.
Experience with LangGraph, Crew AI, or Strands SDK for agent development.
Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Strong knowledge of AI/ML technologies and mathematical and statistical concepts.
Preferred experience with Spring Boot, DynamoDB, Redis, ValKey, MemCache, Apache Kafka, Kinesis, AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Ad tech domain knowledge is preferred.

Engineers are expected to work in the office four days per week.
The role hires in Glendale, Seattle, San Francisco, or Santa Monica.
Bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided in addition to base compensation.
