Responsibilities
- Define and execute the multi-year backend architecture vision for a scalable, extensible Money Boxes platform.
- Architect high-throughput double-entry accounting, balance-tracking, reconciliation, accrual, and yield-calculation engines.
- Design resilient deposit, withdrawal, auto-investment, settlement, brokerage, clearinghouse, and banking-rail execution flows.
- Create abstractions for regional regulations, tax logic, currencies, and localized product experiences across multiple countries.
- Author technical RFCs and drive architectural consensus across Payments, Core Banking, Investments, and Security leadership.
- Mentor senior engineers and raise standards for distributed-systems design, resilience, fault tolerance, and domain-driven design.
Requirements
- Proven Staff or Senior Staff-level experience designing, operating, and scaling highly available, mission-critical distributed systems.
- Deep hands-on experience in fintech, banking, or investments, including transactional platforms, ledger or accounting engines, investment order management, custody, or core banking infrastructure.
- Exceptional knowledge of event-driven architectures, transactional consistency, distributed sagas, domain-driven design, and high-concurrency services.
- Experience building domain-agnostic, developer-friendly platforms and APIs with explicit contracts, service-level agreements, and strong observability.
- Proven ability to drive cross-organizational technical alignment, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and communicate strategy to engineering leaders, Product Managers, and General Managers.
- Professional fluency in English is required; Portuguese or Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to work in Brazil or at a key US hub, depending on location.
