Responsibilities
- Build and maintain stable, scalable foundational services based on sound architectural principles.
- Collaborate with internal partners and product teams to influence the design of the API surface.
- Design and develop reliable, secure, highly available experiences for dbt Cloud administrators and end users.
- Work with product management, UX designers, security, QA, and customer support to deliver platform features.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and advocate for platform-focused security.
- Address infrastructure-related dependencies and collaborate with other teams to deliver features.
Requirements
- Strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming and experience building API-driven applications with REST and/or gRPC.
- Experience supporting and evolving APIs through multiple iterations and designing scalable, reusable components.
- Ability to write unit, functional, and integration tests and maintain high programming standards.
- Ability to work autonomously, solve problems systematically, communicate effectively, and collaborate across teams.
- Experience with authentication protocols such as SAML and OIDC and fine-grained authorization is a bonus.
- Interest in application-level product security and experience building reliable, mission-critical software for external customers are bonuses.
- Experience with scalable architecture patterns, Datadog or other log monitoring services, production debugging, and distributed teams are bonuses.
