Base Salary
$150k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build systems for capturing, structuring, processing, storing, and querying operational and financial data, including event architecture, data pipelines, and analytical systems such as ClickHouse.
- Build AI agents and intelligent workflows that use company data to identify problems, answer questions, support decisions, and automate customer work.
- Own production quality by designing for reliability, observability, security, cost efficiency, failure recovery, data quality, permissions, model uncertainty, and appropriate human review.
- Develop evaluations and feedback loops for accuracy, reliability, latency, cost, and customer impact.
- Partner with leadership, product, engineering, support, and customers to identify valuable problems and ship solutions.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions among deterministic workflows, analytical queries, machine-learning models, LLMs, vendors, or combinations of these approaches.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineer with experience building and operating production systems and strong product and architectural judgment.
- Deep experience with data architecture, SQL, data modeling, and analytical databases such as ClickHouse.
- Understanding of distributed and event-driven systems, including ordering, retries, deduplication, replay, schema evolution, and failure recovery.
- Experience shipping AI- or ML-powered product features and understanding the surrounding systems for data, retrieval, tool use, evaluation, observability, permissions, and fallbacks.
- Additional useful experience includes agentic systems, retrieval, embeddings, semantic or hybrid search, AI and LLM evaluation frameworks, classical machine learning, forecasting, anomaly detection, optimization, event-processing systems, change data capture, database replication, data governance, privacy, auditability, and operational business data.
