Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and architecture of scalable, elastic distributed systems for hyperscale workloads.
  • Define scalability requirements, optimize performance, and leverage distributed state management and data-plane platforms.
  • Design fault-tolerant and highly available systems using redundancy, replication, failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
  • Establish SLOs, KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, and alerts for reliability and performance.
  • Design performance, load, fault-injection, and brownout testing and implement replication and synchronization mechanisms.
  • Diagnose production issues, guide incident response and root cause analysis, and ensure operational readiness.
  • Enable in-service maintenance, safe patching, upgrades, updates, and rollbacks with minimal customer impact.
  • Implement encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance practices, IaC, and cloud infrastructure automation.
  • Manage moderately complex initiatives and provide technical oversight for priorities, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders, document solutions, improve processes, and incorporate feedback.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and support candidate interviews, assessments, and hiring recommendations.

Requirements

  • Principal-level software engineering experience designing scalable, elastic, fault-tolerant distributed systems for high-throughput workloads.
  • Experience with performance engineering, distributed state management, replication, synchronization, observability, and reliability mechanisms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues, lead incident response and root cause analysis, and maintain operational readiness.
  • Experience implementing security, compliance, encryption, access controls, infrastructure as code, and automation in multi-tenant cloud environments.
  • Ability to lead moderately complex initiatives, provide technical oversight, collaborate across teams, and mentor engineers.
  • Must meet applicable requirements for certain U.S.-based or customer-facing roles, which may include immunization, occupational health, or drug testing requirements.

  • U.S. hiring range is $114,600 to $234,600 per annum, with potential bonus, equity, and compensation deferral eligibility.
