Responsibilities
- Define and drive the target-state architecture and technology roadmap for a scalable multi-tenant SaaS Data Platform.
- Lead the modernization of traditional data warehouse systems into a cloud-native Lakehouse supporting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Establish standards for data modeling, metadata management, lineage, semantic layers, data products, governance, discoverability, quality, and reuse.
- Design platform capabilities for generative AI, RAG, agentic AI workflows, vector search, real-time inference, model observability, and responsible AI governance.
- Lead architecture reviews, guide critical design decisions, mentor engineers, and raise technical standards across teams.
- Architect high-performance, resilient, reliable, observable, and cost-efficient distributed systems.
- Drive engineering practices involving CI/CD, testing, DevOps, security, governance, and operational excellence.
- Partner with product, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable customer-centric solutions.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial experience building modern data platforms in SaaS environments.
- Deep knowledge of modern data architectures such as Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and large-scale data platforms, with the ability to modernize legacy environments.
- Proven experience designing and building scalable, highly available distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, Trino, Flink, Iceberg, or Delta Lake.
- Strong expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, containerization, and scalable, cost-efficient infrastructure.
- Experience designing AI-powered platforms and products involving LLMs, RAG, vector data architectures, and production AI/ML workloads in enterprise environments.
- Ability to assess AI technologies across performance, cost, reliability, security, and governance considerations.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of secure system design, data governance, enterprise risk, and sensitive-data handling.
- Proven ability to influence architecture, mentor engineers, communicate complex technical concepts, and align stakeholders.
