Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Build backend services, APIs, distributed systems, real-time systems, and event-driven architectures with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Design and implement large-scale data processing and analytics pipelines using Apache Spark.
- Own complex technical problems from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Define and review system architecture, technical designs, APIs, data models, and integration patterns.
- Conduct code reviews and promote standards for code quality, maintainability, testability, observability, and engineering excellence.
- Identify technical debt and drive improvements to system quality, performance, reliability, and developer productivity.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on collaboration.
- Partner with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Evaluate technologies and approaches and drive adoption when they provide meaningful technical or business value.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building and operating large-scale production systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with React, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven or distributed architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and large-scale data processing.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, data modeling, system design, object-oriented design, design patterns, concurrency, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience designing and implementing highly scalable and reliable systems.
- Experience with architecture reviews, code reviews, and driving technical standards across engineering teams.
- Strong focus on code quality, automated testing, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, communication, technical influence, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Minimum qualification option: bachelor's degree in a specified computing-related field plus four years of software engineering or related experience.
- Minimum qualification alternative: six years of software engineering or related experience.
- Preferred qualification: master's degree in a specified computing-related field plus two years of software engineering or related experience.
