Base Salary
$119k - $196k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, scale, and operate large-scale public-cloud, private-cloud, and datacenter infrastructure and platform services.
- Automate cloud infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, and operational processes using Python, Go, and related technologies.
- Design and develop Red Hat OpenShift platform offerings and standardized CI/CD components using OpenShift Pipelines, Tekton, and GitLab.
- Apply GitOps and Infrastructure as Code practices with Argo CD for declarative platform management.
- Develop software including Kubernetes operators, webhooks, and CLI tools.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure and application monitoring for application engineering teams.
- Lead escalation support for high-severity and critical platform-impacting events.
- Participate in on-call operations, incident response, and blameless postmortems.
- Design software tests, lead peer reviews, and improve code quality.
- Mentor peers, share knowledge, and collaborate within a small agile SRE team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience operating production services on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- 3+ years of programming experience in Python and Go.
- 2+ years of experience using cloud providers and cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and Linux.
- Experience with GitOps workflows for infrastructure or application configuration.
- Strong Linux systems administration knowledge, preferably with RHEL or Fedora.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/TLS, and LDAP authentication protocols.
- Comfort with incident response and on-call responsibilities.
- Knowledge of SRE principles including SLOs, error budgets, and toil measurement.
- Ability to work independently while keeping the team informed.
- Contributions to open source projects are a plus.
- Experience with the Operator SDK or building Kubernetes operators is a plus.
