- Architect an AWS platform for enterprise scale and tens of thousands of users.
- Evaluate the Postgres/Supabase backend and design caching, multi-region, and global federation strategies.
- Own load-testing strategy and responsiveness targets across geographies.
- Ensure security and access-control requirements for sensitive content are met.
- Produce architecture diagrams, decision records, and technical standards.
- Guide and mentor engineers on cloud best practices and patterns.
- Define availability, resilience, cost, and observability requirements.
- Partner with security and compliance teams and support build-versus-buy and technology evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in architecture.
- Senior cloud architecture experience on AWS and experience designing high-scale, low-latency, multi-region distributed systems.
- Experience with caching strategies, data federation, performance/load testing, security architecture, RBAC/ABAC, infrastructure as code, and containerization.
- Strong understanding of networking, IAM, cost optimization, and observability tooling.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, consulting, and technical leadership skills.
- AWS certification such as Solutions Architect Professional is preferred.
- Prior Life Sciences industry experience and connections are preferred.
