Base Salary
$185k - $277k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the vision, roadmap, and execution for a broad developer-platform functional area.
- Set technical direction, priorities, and task scopes for other team members.
- Design and develop cloud-native platform capabilities using open-source components such as Kubernetes, Backstage, ArgoCD, and Terraform.
- Drive high-quality production implementation, including monitoring, frequent releases, reliable CI, and strong code health.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on system architecture and integrations.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in software engineering.
- 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure production products and services.
- Experience with Go, Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Azure, and tools such as GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, or Backstage.
- Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and system design, along with analytical and debugging skills.
- Strong communication skills for requirements gathering, problem scoping, and system-design documentation.
- Preferred: deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
- Preferred: experience with microservices, software delivery platforms, DevSecOps, continuous integration, and release management.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience working on a centralized developer platform team.
- Preferred: strong interest in developer experience and empathy for users.
