Base Salary
$125k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design scalable, maintainable, and secure service architectures and contribute to long-term platform and architectural planning.
- Build backend services and web or background-worker applications using C# or TypeScript.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, with PostgreSQL preferred.
- Implement and maintain Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Apply application and infrastructure security practices, including secure coding, vulnerability assessments, and secrets management.
- Improve code quality through architecture, code reviews, testing, automation, and deployment practices.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex backend issues while improving performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Mentor junior engineers through coaching, pairing, feedback, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to define requirements, scope projects, and deliver platform solutions.
- Monitor emerging technologies, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and secure software practices to inform engineering strategy.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of progressive software engineering experience with leadership experience required.
- In-depth knowledge of modern software development practices and architectures.
- Proficiency in or ability to quickly ramp up with typed functional programming in C# or TypeScript.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; PostgreSQL expertise is preferred.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and maintainable platforms and system architectures.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Expertise in application and infrastructure security best practices.
- Strong understanding of testing, automation, performance optimization, reliability, and scalability.
- Interest in AI/ML applications in production systems.
- Experience working in ambiguous and complex problem spaces with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for varied audiences.
- Passion for mentoring and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
