Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end engineering of enterprise-grade data and AI applications from conceptual design through production hardening.
- Define enterprise data management frameworks, data architecture strategy, data hub and data product patterns, and reference architectures.
- Formalize versioned, machine-readable data contracts covering schemas, SLAs, semantics, lineage, and classification.
- Architect and implement a unified semantic layer for consistent metrics, dimensions, governed data access, BI, AI/ML, and application use cases.
- Integrate contract testing, schema enforcement, compatibility checks, anomaly detection, freshness validation, and semantic validation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Design lineage, observability, telemetry, and SLA monitoring architectures for data products.
- Operationalize Architecture as Code with version-controlled definitions and automated validation for data initiatives and products.
- Design and deploy multi-step reasoning workflows and autonomous agents using RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, orchestration, and evaluation or guardrail frameworks.
- Conduct architecture reviews, establish engineering standards, influence roadmaps, mentor practitioners, and serve as a technical escalation point.
- Collaborate with senior technology and business leaders to align platform strategy with the enterprise data and AI vision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a software or platform engineer designing and delivering large-scale distributed data and AI platforms.
- Practical experience with Architecture as Code using Finos CALM, a DSL, or an equivalent approach integrated with CI/CD validation and automated diagram generation.
- Practical experience building and deploying agentic AI systems, including LLM-based agents, multi-step reasoning, tool use, RAG, embedding search, and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go, plus Terraform, Docker, policy as code, and REST, gRPC, or GraphQL API design.
- Experience with enterprise data architecture, solution architecture, data integration, automation, orchestration, security, and data observability engineering.
- Experience with cloud object stores, data processing platforms, data warehouses or query engines, and streaming technologies including Blob, S3, ADF, Glue, Databricks, Snowflake, Starburst Trino, Kafka, and Kinesis.
- Strong DevOps foundation covering CI/CD, containerization, observability, telemetry, reliability engineering, secrets management, IAM, encryption, and network security.
- Experience influencing senior technical and business leaders, leading complex cross-functional programs, and driving engineering trade-offs and standards.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, security-first development, written and oral communication, and presentations.
- Preferred experience includes multi-agent orchestration, agent evaluation and safety guardrails, responsible AI, data quality and contract validation tools such as Great Expectations, Soda, or Monte Carlo, data governance platforms such as Collibra, open-source contributions, and FinOps.
