Responsibilities
- Execute system-level software validation and integration tests across labs, simulators, test platforms, and other environments.
- Perform manual validation and develop or maintain automated test cases where appropriate.
- Analyze test results, document defects, reproduce failures, isolate failure conditions, and support root-cause analysis.
- Maintain and configure test environments, including system setup, software deployment, and configuration management.
- Validate software changes from multiple development teams and assess system-wide impacts across subsystems.
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and integration teams to ensure system coherence and readiness.
- Support customer-facing Factory Acceptance Tests, Set-To-Work activities, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting.
- Develop test procedures, validation documentation, knowledge artifacts, and process improvements that expand automation coverage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Software, Computer, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in software testing, system validation, integration, technical support, or service engineering.
- Hands-on experience executing manual software tests and documenting defects with clear, structured reports.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug multi-component systems involving software, configuration, interfaces, and basic hardware interactions.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and validation processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills, with initiative and curiosity.
- Ability to work as a polyvalent generalist across multiple subsystems and adapt to evolving priorities.
- Bilingualism in French and English is required.
- Eligibility for the Controlled Goods Program and Canadian Reliability, Secret Level 2, and NATO Secret security clearances.
- Experience with Python, Bash, TestComplete, system-level test environments, communication protocols, networking, distributed systems, FAT, STW, commissioning, or customer support is an asset.
