Responsibilities
- Modernize Python/Flask services and migrate legacy MySQL/MongoDB data platforms into secure, scalable cloud-native services.
- Design and implement REST and business APIs for assessments, evaluations, findings, recommendations, reports, artifacts, reconciliation threads, and approval history.
- Build secure integrations with enterprise data sources, program-management systems, SharePoint, telemetry streams, and analytics platforms.
- Develop data-ingestion, transformation, validation, reconciliation, ETL/ELT, document-processing, and API-integration pipelines.
- Implement workflow automation and AI-assisted capabilities with human analysts remaining accountable for official findings and scores.
- Establish API standards, coding standards, data-quality controls, service-level objectives, and technical documentation.
- Partner with security and cloud engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities, implement secure configurations, and generate ATO evidence.
- Package applications with Docker and deploy them to Kubernetes or managed container platforms.
- Implement automated unit, integration, contract, regression, performance, and API security testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree and 11+ years of professional back-end software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years delivering cloud-native, distributed, or microservices-based applications.
- Must be TS/SCI eligible.
- Expert-level Python experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Experience decomposing monolithic Flask applications, designing domain-driven systems, and building workflow engines for complex auditable processes.
- Experience with API gateways, versioning, throttling, idempotency, OpenAPI, OAuth/OIDC token validation, and service-to-service authentication.
- Strong relational-data expertise, especially PostgreSQL, including modeling, migrations, optimization, indexing, transactions, high availability, backup/restore, and replication.
- Experience with CDC, database replication, data quality, lineage, reconciliation, legacy-platform migration, and minimal-downtime approaches.
- Experience integrating with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online through Microsoft Graph.
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, document extraction, NLP workflows, model evaluation, and human-in-the-loop AI decision support.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, queues, and streaming platforms.
- Experience processing JSON, XML, CSV, PDF, and Office documents.
- Experience with Git-based development and CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD in a DoW enterprise environment.
- Practical GraphQL experience is strongly preferred.
- Required or equivalent credentials include an AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud developer certification; CKAD or equivalent Kubernetes expertise; and Security+ or equivalent certification.
