Responsibilities
- Maintain databases across development, QA, and production environments in multiple regions.
- Continually improve database performance, efficiency, reliability, and security.
- Design and support fault-tolerant, highly available database architecture.
- Administer and optimize AWS database services such as RDS, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Engineering, and Software Development teams on database management best practices.
- Evaluate, test, and deploy database changes for new system deployments and product features.
- Manage backup and restore procedures, database monitoring, and incident response.
- Standardize and automate database operations using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Use AI-enabled tools to enhance DBA productivity and operational efficiency.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support production systems.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience administering MySQL databases in production environments.
- Strong experience with AWS database services, including RDS.
- Expert knowledge of database administration best practices.
- Experience designing and supporting highly available database architectures.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code or database change management tooling.
- Ability to effectively use AI tools to support DBA workflows.
- Strong documentation and design discipline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to involvement in regulated cloud environments.
