Base Salary

$142k - $190k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define platform capabilities and design and implement products and services for Disney’s media supply chain.
  • Build scalable, maintainable, well-tested backend software that supports multiple customers and stakeholders.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
  • Ensure platform performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and resiliency.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to refine requirements and solve cross-team problems.
  • Contribute to and review code, establish engineering standards, and ensure product and design specifications are met.
  • Provide technical guidance, promote best practices, mentor junior engineers, and conduct code reviews.
  • Maintain understanding of core systems and upstream and downstream dependencies.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and fix defects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 years of related experience designing backend architectures and delivering backend applications in production.
  • Experience with Java, GraphQL, REST APIs, microservice architectures, asynchronous programming, and the Spring Framework.
  • Experience architecting and delivering high-volume, cached, fault-tolerant, multithreaded, scalable systems.
  • Experience with MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Postgres, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, SQS, Step Functions, and Fargate.
  • Experience with Docker, GitLab CI, Terraform or CloudFormation, and Jenkins.
  • Expertise across the full application development lifecycle, including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Preferred: media distribution experience, vendor-team collaboration, performance testing, application profiling, and expertise in Java and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
