Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Design and implement improvements to application quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Maintain existing codebases and conduct peer reviews of code changes.
- Lead or participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead technical work, mentor less experienced developers, and drive projects across cross-functional teams.
- Translate AI innovation, automation, and engineering-toolchain capabilities into business and productivity impact.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience is required, including 9+ years developing systems or software for large business environments.
- At least 10 years of experience in Java Enterprise Edition and Java full-stack development.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit testing, test-driven development, functional testing, and performance testing.
- Experience with React, SQL and NoSQL database systems, Pulsar or comparable event buses, and Snowflake or comparable cloud-based big data solutions is preferred.
- Experience with software security tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to operate across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation levels.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
