Base Salary
$170k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software for multi-core processors integrated with FPGAs and for satellite avionics and payload data processing systems.
- Develop low-level C/C++ software, drivers, Linux kernel configurations, bootloaders, and RTOS solutions for ARM Cortex and RISC-V architectures.
- Implement secure networking and communications protocols, including IP, TLS, and IPsec, and apply cryptographic systems such as AES, RSA, ECDSA, and ECDH.
- Integrate hardware interfaces and support software-hardware integration, debugging, and system-level validation.
- Lead the development and testing of reusable embedded software modules and establish secure architecture, design, and coding best practices.
- Translate system and customer requirements into software designs and apply relevant government security standards.
- Manage formal software configuration and release processes, including tracking features, defects, and releases.
- Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code walkthroughs, and technical guidance, while providing SME-level support to development and test teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and team workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 9+ years of experience developing embedded software.
- Advanced proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems and low-level driver development.
- Deep experience with embedded Linux systems, kernel configuration, and bootloaders, plus strong understanding of RTOS and real-time constraints.
- Experience interpreting schematics and hardware documentation for driver development.
- Proficiency in networking and communications protocols, including secure communication standards.
- Familiarity with cryptographic principles and embedded security applications.
- Experience with software integration, debugging, and system-level validation.
- Active U.S. Security Clearance required.
- Familiarity with parallel-processing frameworks such as OpenCL or CUDA is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
