Base Salary
$82k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design algorithms and develop scalable embedded software solutions.
- Design and implement real-time operating systems and low-level software, including kernel and machine code.
- Lead system architecture design and delegate tasks across a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Develop and execute software tests to verify compliance with requirements.
- Analyze designs for performance and functionality and debug hardware issues from a software/user perspective.
- Translate customer requirements into technical solutions, propose approaches for unclear requirements, and communicate designs and deliverables to customers and stakeholders.
- Act as a subject matter expert, identify system-level technical risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare technical documentation, procedures, reports, drawings, and manuals.
- Lead a medium-sized team of engineers across multiple disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field is required.
- Expertise in embedded systems, multicore operating systems, kernel development or modification, machine code, and C/C++.
- Working knowledge of Rust or strong C experience with a desire to learn Rust.
- Experience designing or implementing real-time operating systems and working with low-level peripherals such as UART, SPI, DMA controllers, and memory controllers.
- Knowledge of multicore processing and scheduling, with the ability to learn or apply RISC-V architecture concepts.
- Ability to debug and isolate hardware issues from a software or user perspective.
- Python experience and familiarity with RISC-V architecture are preferred.
- Ability to work independently, solve complex customer-driven problems, lead technical efforts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; a Secret Clearance is required.
