Responsibilities
- Build and operate IBM Cognos Analytics as a containerized platform on Google Cloud Platform.
- Deploy and maintain Cognos workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine.
- Engineer the infrastructure supporting Cognos and related platform components using Terraform.
- Develop and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform deployments.
- Automate Cognos installation, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Support migration and modernization of existing Cognos environments to the GCP-based platform.
- Operate the platform after deployment and support its users and tenants.
- Manage monitoring, logging, alerting, troubleshooting, reliability, scalability, maintainability, and security.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, and communication between platform components.
- Contribute to platform architecture, technical designs, documentation, operational procedures, and reusable engineering patterns.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Cognos with the broader data and cloud ecosystem.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and public-cloud platform operations.
- Strong Kubernetes knowledge, preferably including Google Kubernetes Engine.
- Experience deploying and operating containerized applications.
- Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably with Terraform.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with managed GCP services such as GKE, Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud Logging/Monitoring.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting distributed applications.
- Knowledge of secure authentication and encrypted workloads, including OIDC, IAM, KMS, and SSL/TLS.
- Comfort with scripting and operational automation; Python and Bash experience is advantageous.
- Understanding of cloud and Kubernetes networking concepts.
- Experience migrating enterprise applications from on-premises infrastructure to GCP.
- Experience designing or operating highly available Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Experience with Terraform modules, Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, container registries, image lifecycle management, deployment automation, ingress, load balancing, DNS, certificate management, observability dashboards, and cloud infrastructure optimization.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous-improvement skills.
