Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize PennyLane Core infrastructure and APIs for scalable quantum workflows.
- Translate theoretical quantum algorithm developments into robust, production-grade software features.
- Collaborate with Performance, Compilation, FTQC, Architecture, and Research teams to integrate advanced execution pipelines.
- Contribute to PennyLane’s open-source lifecycle through community contributions, documentation, testing, and code review.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
- Education, training, or professional experience in quantum computing, quantum information, or a related field.
- Production-grade Python software development experience focused on clean, modular, maintainable code.
- Experience with unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and rigorous code review workflows.
- Hands-on experience developing with or extending quantum computing libraries or machine learning frameworks such as JAX or PyTorch.
- Ability to translate complex mathematical or scientific descriptions into efficient software implementations.
- Ability to learn and master advanced scientific and technical concepts with minimal direction.
- Preferred: MSc or PhD in a related field with a quantum computing or quantum information research focus.
- Preferred: Experience architecting or maintaining large-scale software packages, complex APIs, or developer-facing toolkits.
- Preferred: Advanced understanding of machine learning libraries and compilation internals, and contributions to scientific, quantum computing, or PennyLane/Catalyst open-source projects.
