Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve Ruby on Rails services for high-throughput APIs, payment and wallet flows, real-time game integrations, and back-office tooling.
- Use AI coding assistants for scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and code review while retaining responsibility for production quality.
- Integrate LLM-based features such as fraud and risk signals, player-support automation, content generation, and internal analytics copilots where valuable.
- Profile performance, tune PostgreSQL queries, design caching and background-processing strategies, and drive incidents to root cause.
- Review human- and AI-written code, mentor mid-level engineers, and help define responsible AI development standards.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and cross-team initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of commercial Ruby on Rails experience with a deep understanding of Ruby internals and Rails conventions.
- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including indexing, query planning, and large-table migrations without downtime.
- Understanding of distributed systems, message queues, idempotency, eventual consistency, background jobs, and caching.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and the ability to evaluate, verify, test, and explain AI-generated code.
- Experience designing and consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs, with familiarity with OpenAPI.
- Confidence with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker, plus the ability to read Kubernetes manifests and logs.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, or OpenTelemetry.
- English proficiency at B2 or higher for technical documentation, RFCs, and code reviews.
- Preferred qualifications include production LLM API integration, prompt design, structured outputs, evaluation, RAG, vector databases, agent frameworks, AI security and privacy, fintech/payments or iGaming experience, open-source contributions, and working knowledge of Go, Elixir, or TypeScript.
