Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and write maintainable, well-tested Java code for automation testing framework capabilities.
- Lead the design, development, enhancement, adoption, documentation, and enablement of the automation testing framework.
- Lead debugging, root-cause analysis, code reviews, design discussions, proof-of-concept efforts, and architectural decisions.
- Integrate and act on findings from SonarQube, Snyk, Sysdig, Veracode, and Black Duck in partnership with security teams.
- Own and improve CI/CD automation and containerized deployments using Jenkins, Docker, Harness, and Rancher.
- Serve as an escalation point for testing teams and eliminate recurring framework issues at their source.
- Mentor and coach Associates and engineers, provide technical leadership, and potentially lead small project teams.
- Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, backlog and roadmap discussions, and cross-team delivery activities.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code for code generation, refactoring, unit testing, and documentation while coaching others on disciplined use.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with production systems, distributed systems, and backend microservices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field; an advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Advanced Java expertise, including object-oriented design, concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning, and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Kafka Streaming, message queues, scale, resilience, fault tolerance, and serialization formats such as Protobuf or Avro.
- Strong experience developing APIs, working with SQL databases and data storage such as S3, and optimizing analytical SQL queries for relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, especially S3, and cloud design, security, and cost considerations.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar orchestration platforms, along with Git workflows, test automation frameworks, and release-process improvement.
- Experience with Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, code reviews, backlog refinement, and cross-team communication.
- Ability to make architectural trade-offs, solve ambiguous problems, communicate with technical and executive audiences, mentor others, and adopt new technologies.
