Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, and architecture of platform capabilities for enterprise-scale API gateways, edge routing, and developer acceleration.
- Build and scale high-throughput backend engines for request orchestration, multi-tenant isolation, and API-first solutions.
- Set technical direction for initiatives involving Vanity URLs, JWT authentication flows, and cross-service proxying.
- Evolve deployment infrastructure using GitOps workflows, ArgoCD, Helm, and highly available container orchestration.
- Own foundational features from design through production while improving observability, rate limiting, and concurrency handling.
- Develop Java and Kotlin solutions integrating backend microservices with UI components and distributed edge proxies.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and hands-on technical leadership.
Requirements
- Experience in software engineering for enterprise-scale, high-throughput platform or data-centric environments.
- Deep expertise in Java and/or Kotlin and distributed-systems internals.
- Experience delivering API-first infrastructure, API gateways such as Traefik, and edge-routing solutions supporting sustained traffic loads of 2K+ requests per second.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerized deployments, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and ArgoCD.
- Grounding in event-driven architecture, real-time data processing, and large-scale database transaction scopes.
- Ability to use modern AI tools and concepts, including agentic programming patterns and LLM-assisted workflows.
- Strong technical communication skills, including creating RFCs and architectural designs and aligning globally distributed teams.
- Preferred experience shaping enterprise-scale platform strategy across hybrid or cloud-agnostic infrastructures.
- Preferred familiarity with React, Python, or Go and a willingness to explore new technologies.
- Experience mentoring engineers and building consensus across distributed teams.
