Responsibilities
- Design, write, test, implement, and document solutions for assigned program modules.
- Configure, support, and troubleshoot assigned IT systems and applications.
- Develop and support integrations, middleware, RESTful services, and APIs.
- Identify and resolve defects across application and system layers.
- Collaborate with project teams and other software engineers to provide technical support.
- Document solutions and provide reliable experiences for system users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience independently identifying program issues and developing appropriate solutions.
- Strong understanding of commonly used programming concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Experience with Java and scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Experience developing integrations, middleware, RESTful services, and APIs.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in APIs, web services, and Java-based applications.
- Experience working in Linux and/or IBM AIX environments.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application and system layers.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience with cloud technologies, microservices, Spring Boot, APIs, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ.
- Understanding of Java microservice architecture is preferred.
