Base Salary
$65k - $117k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions for financial transaction processing systems.
- Design and optimize batch and online processing components for high-volume Cards and Payments transactions.
- Review and improve application architecture, COBOL programs, DB2 queries, and VSAM file structures.
- Develop and maintain JCL processes, including scheduling, recovery, error handling, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform debugging and root-cause analysis to deliver sustainable solutions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on mainframe application development experience in large-scale financial or transaction-processing environments.
- Strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL, including performance tuning, batch processing, and database optimization.
- Experience supporting Cards and Payments systems, including transaction processing, authorization, clearing, settlement, and dispute management.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
