Responsibilities
- Lead technical processes, solution designs, application architecture, and end-to-end designs with emphasis on reliability, data integrity, maintainability, scalability, and usability.
- Architect, implement, deploy, and support scalable backend application services using Java, Spring Boot, SQL, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, Kafka, and container platforms.
- Define scalability and performance criteria, tune application performance, troubleshoot production incidents, and verify testing for performance and security compliance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, product, project management, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to deliver technology platforms and business solutions.
- Manage software development processes, drive technical and business process improvements, estimate project costs, and evaluate technologies for solution design.
- Manage and mentor engineers across multiple geographies and support code reviews, agile development practices, and technical excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience, including 8 or more years of backend development experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, REST APIs, and Kubernetes-based container platforms.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design patterns and programming techniques.
- Familiarity with Splunk, Grafana, Maven, Jenkins, Dynatrace, build and deployment tools, and observability tools.
- Experience with large modular codebases, monorepos, packaging and deploying backend applications, preferably with Docker, and resolving complex production incidents.
- Strong communication skills and experience managing or mentoring engineers across multiple geographies.
