Base Salary

$130k - $154k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical vision and architectural roadmap for the Insurance Solutions Technology platform.
  • Define and govern API security standards, architectural decision-making processes, and SDLC quality gates.
  • Own the Level 3 production support strategy for a business-critical externally facing platform.
  • Mentor engineering teams and establish technical standards for scalability, security, and quality.
  • Define governance, quality, and security guardrails for AI-assisted and AI-generated code.
  • Translate business, product, and partner integration strategies into sustainable technical architecture and execution roadmaps.
  • Guide the platform’s evolution as annuity products expand into retail markets and future distribution partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Java development, including Java 17 or later, and demonstrated ownership of enterprise platform architecture and technical direction.
  • Experience owning SDLC governance, architectural decisions, and API security standards for complex externally facing platforms.
  • Experience owning Level 3 production support strategy for a business-critical system.
  • Hands-on cloud-native engineering experience with AWS EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, CloudBees, and ArgoCD.
  • Experience defining governance frameworks and quality or security guardrails for AI-assisted development tools.
  • Strong technical mentorship and engineering leadership experience.
  • Preferred experience in financial services or insurance, especially annuity products, recordkeeping, or accumulation ledger systems.
  • Preferred experience with message-based integration, broader cloud infrastructure architecture, secrets management, authentication architecture, workflow orchestration, and external distribution partnerships.
  • Preferred familiarity with IBM MQ, Apache ActiveMQ Artemis, Kafka, JMS, AWS ECS, S3, Glue, Lambda, OpenShift, Terraform, CyberArk Conjur, Kerberos, Flowable, or Camunda.
