Base Salary
$128k - $153k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of production-quality Java microservices, batch pipelines, APIs, and end-to-end integration solutions.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture decisions, code reviews, mentoring, and development lifecycle guidance.
- Design, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot external customer-facing APIs at enterprise scale.
- Lead containerization and deployment strategy using AWS EKS and CI/CD tooling including Jenkins, Cloudbees, and ArgoCD.
- Validate and stress-test AI-generated code for production quality, security, and reliability.
- Perform maintenance programming, defect correction, production-support incident triage, and observability-driven troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with business analysts, partner integration teams, and downstream data consumers to support financial and insurance platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 5 years of Java development experience required; 7 or more years preferred.
- Deep expertise with Java 17 or later, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch.
- Hands-on experience developing and securing external customer-facing APIs at enterprise scale.
- Experience with AWS EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Cloudbees, and ArgoCD.
- Experience with REST API design and integration, including OpenAPI/Swagger and contract-first approaches.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Kiro.
- Experience with production-support incident triage and observability tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor development teams.
- Python, message-based integration, broader cloud infrastructure, secrets management, authentication chains, financial services or insurance, and workflow orchestration experience are preferred.
- Experience with IBM MQ, Apache ActiveMQ Artemis, Kafka, JMS, AWS ECS, S3, Glue, Lambda, OpenShift, Terraform, CyberArk Conjur, Kerberos, Flowable, or Camunda is preferred.
- Ability to work across technical and business teams and translate strategic platform goals into engineering execution.
