Responsibilities
- Develop scalable and maintainable solutions for challenging engineering problems.
- Write well-constructed code and defensive, robust tests.
- Improve engineering standards, tools, design patterns, and processes across the team.
- Clarify ambiguous or conflicting requirements and communicate solution trade-offs.
- Mentor and empower junior engineers.
- Launch full-stack features with Java APIs and ReactJS front ends in a microservice architecture.
- Build and operate metadata enrichment and validation systems for discovery, personalization, compliance, accessibility, and monetization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of related software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with relational SQL databases and non-relational databases including DynamoDB and ElastiCache.
- Experience with messaging technologies including Kinesis, Kafka, SQS, and SNS.
- Preferred knowledge of metadata classification, entity resolution, or knowledge graph enrichment.
- Preferred familiarity with Elasticsearch or other search/indexing systems.
- Preferred background in sports, entertainment, or media content pipelines.
