Responsibilities
- Build extremely large-scale platform products and services used by Roku engineers and consumers across millions of devices.
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to take software from ideation through production deployment and support.
- Lead evaluation of new technologies and promote development best practices, including code and design reviews.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Participate in scoping, technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong software development experience, preferably in Java; Python is a nice-to-have.
- Expertise building large-scale cloud services, ideally using AWS.
- Experience selecting appropriate data stores and analyzing trade-offs.
- Experience with in-memory caching layers such as Redis, Redis Cluster, or Memcached.
- A track record of monitoring deployment quality and troubleshooting production systems.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end web architecture, from end-user devices to data-center services.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
