Responsibilities
- Own complex AI agents, copilots, and platform services from design through production.
- Lead multi-person workstreams and make key technical decisions for critical systems.
- Design agentic systems covering orchestration, tool use, capability boundaries, memory, state, evaluation, observability, guardrails, and cost per completed task.
- Set quality, evaluation, observability, incident-response, and operational standards for non-deterministic systems.
- Contribute high-leverage code to the internal AI platform and improve shared engineering paths with the architect.
- Partner with business owners to scope, ship, and measure systems that address real operational needs.
- Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and increase the team’s technical depth and autonomy.
Requirements
- Roughly 6+ years of software engineering experience, including leading the design and delivery of complex production systems.
- Hands-on expertise with LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, tool use, evaluation, and LLMOps practices.
- Production experience with agentic systems, orchestration frameworks, Model Context Protocol tooling, vector stores, and runtime guardrails.
- Strong fundamentals in at least one of Python, Go, TypeScript, or Java.
- Experience with Kubernetes, serverless infrastructure, APIs, event-driven patterns, and observability stacks.
- Understanding of governance for autonomous systems, including capability boundaries, least-privilege access, human approval, and audit trails.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into well-bounded systems and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, raise technical standards, and build alignment without formal authority.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones with US-based teammates.
- Experience re-engineering enterprise HRIS, financial, GTM, audited, or regulated workflows is a bonus.
- Experience deploying internal AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot at scale is a bonus.
- Experience with agent evaluation, observability, and identity and access design for autonomous systems is a bonus.
