Base Salary
$60k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain spacecraft flight software architecture.
- Develop mission-specific software components, communication protocols, telemetry, time-stamping, scheduling, and bus communications.
- Develop FPGA and GPIO drivers and logic for spacecraft hardware interfaces.
- Design memory storage solutions and implement memory management, boot behavior, partition swapping, and fail-safe recovery modes.
- Manage the GitLab codebase and CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and development.
- Execute test campaigns on flatsat testbeds and flight units.
- Integrate spacecraft subsystems with the main compute element.
- Document designs, test results, and system performance and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance on flight software architectures to other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or a similar field.
- 5–7 years of flight software experience in aerospace or related fields, emphasizing hands-on spacecraft code development and testing.
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and embedded Linux.
- Strong proficiency with GitLab and CI/CD workflows.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and demonstrate strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Must possess or be willing and eligible to obtain a United States Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.
- Preferred experience with FPrime or CFS and computer architecture principles.
- Preferred experience with I2C, CAN, UART, RS485, FPGA and GPIO interfaces, clean room environments, ESD protocols, memory management, file systems, and embedded-system bootloader development.
